DollyFest Will Bring Dolly Parton's Celebration Home to Tennessee in 2027
The official two-continent festival is headed to Nashville and London. Our coverage plans are centered on Tennessee, with a separate return to Dollywood already taking shape.
DollyFest is coming in 2027, and the most important detail in the announcement may be that the idea began with Dolly Parton herself.
Parton's estate announced Aug. 31 that the official Team Dolly-produced celebration will unfold across two consecutive weekends in Nashville, Tennessee, and London, England. Specific dates, venues, ticket information and participating artists have not yet been announced. For us, the Tennessee gathering is the one that matters most: we plan to be in Nashville when DollyFest arrives.
The festival grew from a multi-artist Nashville event planned for January 2026 around Parton's 80th birthday, with Parton intended to perform and host. That earlier event was postponed, but the concept remained. Her team is now expanding it across two continents rather than presenting it as a traditional memorial. That origin matters: this is a celebration her estate says Parton had already imagined.
DollyFest is being positioned around the things Parton spent a lifetime making public; music, humor, generosity, spectacle and an unusually durable sense of home. Nashville provides the obvious American setting, while the London weekend acknowledges how far beyond Tennessee her audience ultimately reached.
There is still a lot we do not know. No lineup has been released. Tickets are not on sale. The exact 2027 weekends remain forthcoming. So this is a true advance: mark the event, understand what it is trying to be, and wait for the practical details. When the Tennessee weekend comes, we will be there to see what the idea becomes once fans, artists and the city are all in the same place.
SEPARATE STOP: BACK TO DOLLYWOOD
The Tennessee trip will also give us a reason to return to Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, but that will be a separate story from DollyFest.
Dollywood Parks & Resorts announced Sept. 2 a slate of lasting experiences and installations intended to carry Parton's influence through the park. Plans include a cascading mountainside waterfall and new stained-glass windows at the Robert F. Thomas Chapel; the Dream Maker and Dream Wagon coming to Wildwood Grove in 2027; guest-message kiosks; and a new portal into The Dolly Parton Experience. Nearby Sevierville is also preparing "In Dolly's Footsteps," a walking-tour program tied to places connected to Parton and her family.
We have been to Dollywood before and will going back to see what these additions feel like once they are part of the landscape.
A festival gathers people for a moment, and a place like Dollywood has to decide what remains after the moment passes, Tennessee will soon have both.
