At Morey's Piers, the Water Park Is Going to the Dogs

PigDog Puppa Palooza returns Sept. 13 with one last improbable use for a Wildwood water park: handing the pools over to the dogs while the Airshow moves overhead.

Raging Waters Water Park · Mariner's Pier, Wildwood, New Jersey

There are plenty of signs that the Wildwood summer season is beginning to turn the corner. PigDog Puppa Palooza offers one of the stranger and better ones: the day Raging Waters stops operating strictly as a people place and becomes, for a few hours, a dog pool party.

Morey's Piers will hold the 2026 edition on Sunday, Sept. 13 at Raging Waters Water Park on Mariner's Pier. The event is the only day of the year when dogs are invited into the water park, with ten one-hour pool-party sessions running from 10:30 a.m. through 4 p.m. Check-in opens at 10 a.m., and PigDog Beach Bar will host Yappy Hour from 1 to 4 p.m.

The format is simple, but not loose. Each dog needs a designated handler, and registration is tied to a specific one-hour session. Dogs can paddle along the river adventure or chase tennis balls in the Raging Waters activity pool while their humans stay out of the water. Morey's requires collars, leashes on hand, one dog per handler, a printed e-ticket and a completed printed waiver for every dog. The event is rain or shine, and capacity limits mean guests need to arrive for the session printed on their voucher.

As of September, the pool-party pass for one dog and one owner is $49 online while space remains, with spectator admission at $35. Food and beverages will be available at PigDog Beach Bar, including doggie ice cream, because at a certain point a water park full of dogs stops pretending to be a normal sentence.

There is a community piece beneath the spectacle. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Beacon Animal Rescue, the volunteer-run, no-kill rescue serving Cape May and Atlantic counties. Morey's is also timing the event alongside the Wildwood Airshow, which means aircraft will be moving overhead while dogs splash below. On a boardwalk that has always understood the value of putting several kinds of spectacle within eyesight of one another, the combination feels almost perfectly on brand.

An advance can explain the mechanics. The better story will be around the pool when the first group of dogs realizes that the gates are open and the humans are not getting in with them. We will save that part for the day itself.
